Flowering The stiffly vertical flower spikes are mauve-pink aging to gold and produced in summer.
Size Grows to 1m high x 1m wide.
Maintenance Although the foliage is evergreen cut back to ground level during July to make room for fresh spring growth.
Position Prefers damp areas of the garden and is happy in both sun or light shade. Water as required during dry spells.
Uses Can be planted ‘en-masse’ or grown as individual specimens both in the garden or in containers. Blend with other perennials and other ornamental plants.

Variegated Feather Reed Grass. Calamagrostis ‘Overdam’ makes a lovely tussock of creamy white striped leaves.
